Frequently asked questions

What do I need to run this on my own server?
You need a hosting environment with PHP 8.0+ and MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.3+. Most standard shared hosting plans qualify — NameCheap, SiteGround, Hostinger, DreamHost, and similar providers all work. A VPS (like DigitalOcean or Linode) also works great. You'll also need API keys for Daily.co (free tier available), Pusher (free tier available), and Stripe (no cost to set up). If you're not sure about your host, ask us before purchasing.
What happens to my install after the update period ends?
Nothing. Your platform keeps running exactly as it is — the license never expires, there's no kill switch, and your install isn't affected. You're simply running the version you installed rather than receiving future updates. When we release significant new features, you can choose to purchase a renewal if those features matter to you.
Can I run multiple readers or practitioners on one license?
Yes. Both Solo and Studio licenses support multiple reader accounts on a single install. You can run a marketplace with several readers, each with their own profile, availability, services, and booking calendar. There's no per-seat or per-reader fee.
Does SpreadSuite take a cut of my revenue?
No. SpreadSuite takes nothing. Payments go from your clients through Stripe directly to your Stripe account. Stripe's own processing fees (typically ~2.9% + 30¢) are the only transaction cost. We have no visibility into your revenue and no mechanism to collect a cut.
Can I customize the look and feel?
Yes — extensively. From the admin panel you can set your site name, logo, colors, tagline, and favicon. The platform uses a CSS variable theming system, so with basic CSS knowledge you can go further. Since you own the install, you can modify the source code however you like. Clients will never see "SpreadSuite" anywhere on your install.
What's a "vertical" and how does switching work?
A vertical is a niche configuration — Tarot, Oracle, Runes, Life Coaching, TTRPG, and more. When you switch verticals, the platform updates all user-facing terminology to match: "cards" become "runes" (or "tiles" or "tokens"), "spreads" become "layouts" or "encounters," reversal behavior adjusts, and so on. You can switch your entire platform's identity in the admin settings. The underlying engine is the same — only the presentation changes.
Can I see the platform before I buy?
Yes. SuiteOracle.com is a live, production-deployed SpreadSuite install — an oracle consultation platform running on the real platform. You can browse the public-facing pages to see exactly what your clients will experience. You can also contact us with specific questions — we're happy to walk you through anything.
What's the difference between Solo and Studio?
The platform itself is identical — every feature in Solo is also in Studio. The differences are: Studio includes 12 months of updates (vs. 6 months), and Studio includes priority ticket support where your requests get a direct human response. If you're launching a multi-reader marketplace or a platform where support turnaround matters, Studio is the better fit. If you're a solo practitioner comfortable with self-service and AI support, Solo is excellent value.
